PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: August 26, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.
2. Information We Collect
We collect personal information that you provide when using this website, which may include:
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and the content of your message
- Account registration: your name and email address (your password is stored only as a secure cryptographic hash — we cannot see it)
- Content you post: marketplace listings, job postings, business directory details, and related descriptions
- Payments: purchases are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number; we retain only the receipt details (amount, currency, date, and the email you gave Stripe)
- Technical data: standard server logs and essential cookies (see our Cookies Policy)
- View analytics: when you view a listing, job posting, or directory entry, we record the view together with your approximate location derived from your IP address (country, and city where available), the page that referred you, and your device type. Your IP address itself is stored only as a one-way cryptographic hash. Visitors who are not signed in appear as anonymous; if you are signed in, the view may be associated with your account. Raw view records are deleted after approximately 13 months
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to:
- Operate your account and publish the postings you create
- Process payments and deliver the paid services you purchase
- Send you service emails about your account and postings — such as view milestones, expiry and renewal reminders, a weekly stats digest, and messages from other members relayed through the site (your email address is never shown to the sender)
- Respond to your inquiries
- Improve our website and services
- Meet legal and regulatory obligations
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under PIPEDA, we collect and use personal information with your consent and for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate this website — Stripe (payment processing) and our hosting provider — and only to the extent needed for those services, or if required by law or to protect our rights.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected: account data while your account is active, postings until they are removed or expire, and payment records as required by law, or as required by law.
7. Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your personal information, including encryption of stored credentials and secrets, from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
8. Your Rights
Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Withdraw consent (subject to legal or contractual restrictions)
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal information
9. Contact for Privacy Concerns
To exercise your rights or ask questions about this policy, contact us through the website's contact form.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
